A small sample of singing with papa..the twelve days of christmas..(Ethan especially loves this version.)

Christmas Eve before we were to head home, we braved the -23 weather and went tobogganing...
Why you ask?...cause as parents if you promise you are going to do something...excuses like "it's really to cold, Uncle Terry and Tia are sick, and well .. it is just REALLY cold.. only hold off kids for so long." If you promise your going to go tobogganing in Calgary over Christmas.. well you better get out and keep your promise, and try to have fun doing it. Which by the way we did.. until Owen threw up in his sleigh.. opps!! Guess Owen got the flu too. Merry Christmas!!

This is christmas with Aunty Robin, Matt,Uncle Terry, Aunty Amanda,Tia, Papa & Great Grandpa

in Calgary...

 All the grandkids got matching overalls from papa.. so cute. Amanda, Robin and I want a pair next year...Ok papa?

Our REAL Christmas tree, which jim has been waiting 5 years for. I loved having it! The whole house smelled like christmas every time we walked in... and really was it a big deal that I had to vacuum up needles? NO.. it was definitely worth it. It was beautiful!

2 weekends before christmas Logan, Ethan and I went on a date night. I really wanted to start a tradition of just me and my boys going out. Talking laughing, being in a different setting than just at "home with mom".. I was pretty sure Tim's could help me with the kick off of our date night.
Christmas donuts, and hot cocoa..giggles were definitely heard throughout Tim's that night.

Toyota had a christmas party for the kids. It was great! They rented the gymnastics gym in the morning, then had a pizza party, followed by a visit from... yes Santa himself.

I won the bet with jim, Owen went up without a fuss. He did keep his distance, answered all necessary questions with a nod, and kept his eyes on the big present held by the elf in front of him. He received a bear the same size as him and he was thrilled.

Logan was next, he was shy but still had excitement in his eyes. "Mom, I asked santa for a new lego man in my letter  to him at school. He brought me a lego man..PLUS a lego fire truck!!" Awesome..!

Ethan, was close to last. ( and Im sure jim has a picture..just not sure why it didn't make its way to the computer) He was getting nervous as the bag of gifts got smaller and smaller. There was definite worry in his eyes.
At last his name was called with the biggest box pulled out from behind santa. As he opened it up Logan screamed " Santa he already has these dinosaurs!" Ethan quickly replied with joy " I love these dinosaurs.. they are all healthy, with no missing legs!"

A great way to spend a sunday afternoon, excitement for christmas is in full swing!

Aunty Robin came down for a sleepover and Jim and I went to the Toyota christmas party, this is just before we left. Thanks Aunty Robin.. your cookies and biscuits were so, so Yummy! The boys had so much fun baking with you!

Even Nanny went down... although she quickly declined a second ride. It was pretty fast!

Listen to Owen he made the same noise every time we went down, he LOVED it! You'll have to come try it.

 We had a chance to visit the corn maze, it was great. We did the kids maze and then when we had made it through there we decided to tackle the quiz maze Which gave you a page of questions and then you had to pick A, B or C. Then you  pick your answer and then follow the either left right or straight.
It was w great day in the sun. At the end we picked a huge pumpkin for our house from the patch... all I have to say is thank goodness I brought the wagon as I would have been stuck carrying it... and I'm pretty sure it WAS the biggest one in the patch!

We had the chance to tag along with Nanny and Grampy to Waterton. So we rented a van and Logan took the day off school and we had a wonderful adventure.  Picnic lunch, throwing stones in the water, a park, many walks and even ice cream. ( which poor logan dropped  just as he was leaving the store without even a taste.  The woman  there was nice enough to give him a new one.)

We went to the fun factory to build a bear for Logan's Birthday, from Nanny and Grampy, it was a huge hit! Logan made his "fixer dog" a husky with a tool belt, Ethan made "Harry" a green triceratops in cowboy clothes, and Owen made "oli" the elephant in flannel Pj's. ( no input from mom at all..LOL)

Nanny and Grampy came for a visit. This is the Japanese gardens, just ones of our first stops with them.

Today we had a chance to join Logan's school in the Terry Fox Walk. The kids walked 5 kms and they all did great!! My stroller quickly became the coat rack for Logan's class but that's ok because it just offered Owen more shade. It was a beautiful day to just.. "go outside."    ( Logan, Ethan and Jasper)

This was Logan's Birthday weekend, Aunty Robin and Matt came down to help us celebrate with a picnic in the park. Aunty Robin brought down her famous chocolate chip cookies that the boys couldn't get enough of. Thank you so much for coming down and for the awesome Lego quad.. ( Picked by Matt!)...it's built already...It was a huge hit for Logan.

 Ethan had his first day of preschool,  he loved it! He was a little upset at the fact that he couldn't go everyday, but still glad that he was going to school, like a big boy should.

 This was Logan's first day of grade one. Now you would have thought this day should have been a breeze considering he has done preschool, and had full days in kindergarden... but mom kinda lost it unexpectedly.... yikes he really is growing up fast!

 So now Owen and I have some time to spend together alone , and he is THRILLED with this as am I. He is so sweet, strong willed but generally a very happy little guy.
